#1  Startup Programs

Startup programs are nothing but programs which are allowed to automatically run each time when Windows starts up. Sometimes programs which we don’t use are still running in the background and makes Windows slower by consuming system memory. To disable Startup programs which you don’t need, then head over to “Task Manager” and Click on “Startup” then if you find any programs or applications you don’t need to launch on start then simply right click on it and select “Disable”.



#2 Uninstall Programs

Most of the users may have installed many programs on their windows which are no longer needed. In which some are outdated or downright malicious. When you boot into the Windows these programs load processes and that can take the valuable RAM.  To uninstall the programs which are not in use just go to Settings, Click on Apps. In the list of all applications just select the program/application which is no longer needed and Just click then select Uninstall.

By default, all the system running on Windows are set to “Balanced” Power plan. But in settings still more power settings that are available with different group of settings. The use of these power settings is to provide an easy access to switch from various settings of power that may help you in many ways accordingly. Users can create their own power setting according to their need. “High performance” mode in power settings might boost the performance of your Windows. this setting maximizes the brightness along with some other tweaks. To enable “High Performance” mode head over to Settings then select System settings. Go to Power & Sleep and click on Additional power settings then Show additional plans and at last select High Performance plan.



#4 Trouble Shooter

Certain reasons that are affecting to slow down your system is not easy to find out. The best way to get resolved is using “Trouble Shooter” which is designed to diagnose and to automatically solve the various problems in your Windows. To troubleshoot, go to control panel then select “System and Security”. Now click on “Security and Maintenance” and select Trouble Shooting and follow on-screen instructions. This will search for various problems in the Windows and help them to fix it.



#5 Visual Effects

There are many special effects built-in the Windows Operating system which may slow down the system. Type Advanced system settings and click on it. In Advance menu click on Settings of the Performance. Now you will get options of Adjust for best performance, Adjust for best appearance etc. If you want to increase the performance then select Adjust for best performance and Apply it.



#6 Disk Cleanup

Windows has an inbuilt maintenance utility to clean and free up the disk space on a computer’s hard drive. It will also allow you to empty the Recycle Bin. Search Disk Cleanup in the Windows search bar and open it. It searches the disks for files that are no longer any use including setup log files, Temporary internet files. Just tick the things which you want to clean up and when you are ready click on Cleanup System Files and wait for the completion. It may take some time to analyze unnecessary files to clean.



#7 Delete Junk Files

Junk files take a lot of space. Deleting the junk files stored in the computers can improve the speed of your OS. To do this just go to Run by pressing “Windows+R” and type temp then hit enter. It will open a folder with all the temporary files. Just select all files and Delete. Now again go to run and enter %temp% and hit enter or press ok. Now it will list up another folder with a temporary files/folders. Again just select all of them and delete it.



#8 Using Antivirus

Every Windows is vulnerable to malware which will slow down the system by storing in the system memory. So that scanning the computer periodically can solve this problem.
