YouTube these days feels almost like a daily habit for many of us. We open it without thinking, watch a few videos, and before we know it, a lot of time has passed. It has become a big part of how we learn new things and relax. Along with all this, there is a feature called Incognito Mode that many people like to use.
This feature came in to give users a bit of privacy while watching videos. When you turn it on, your watch history does not get saved, and your recommendations stay the same. This is useful when you want to watch videos without leaving any record on your account. Because of this, many people started using it often as part of their regular viewing.
But recently, many users have noticed that the Incognito Mode option is missing from the app. It just does not show where it used to be, and that has left people wondering what changed. I faced the same issue, and after trying a few things, I found a way to fix it. I will share what worked for me in the sections below.
Why Did the Incognito Mode Option Disappear From My YouTube App?
If you opened YouTube and could not find the Incognito Mode option where it used to be, there is no need to worry. After a recent update, the app layout has been changed. Because of this, a few options have been moved to a different place, which makes it look like Incognito Mode is gone.
The feature is still there, and you can still use it just like before. It has not been removed from the app. You just need to look in the new location where YouTube has placed it after the update.
I have shared all the steps below with clear images so you can easily turn Incognito Mode on and off without any trouble.
How to Fix Incognito Mode Not Showing in YouTube
Turn On Incognito Mode in the YouTube App
If you are trying to find the Incognito Mode option in YouTube, here is the simple way I used:
- Open the YouTube app on your phone
- Tap on the profile icon at the bottom right corner

- Tap on Accounts at the top left corner

- Tap on “Turn On Incognito”

- Once you do this, you will be in Incognito Mode.
If you want to exit it, just tap on “Turn Off Incognito,” and you will go back to your normal account view.
Enable From Settings if Accounts Option is Missing
If you do not see the Accounts option in the You section of YouTube, here is another way that worked for me:
- Open the YouTube app on your phone
- Tap on the profile icon (You) at the bottom right corner
- Tap on the Settings icon at the top right corner

- Select “Switch or manage account”

- Scroll down and tap on “Turn On Incognito.”

This method helps you access Incognito Mode even when the Accounts option is not visible.
Update the App
As I mentioned earlier, this is happening because YouTube has changed its layout. The app design on this screen is now different, so the Incognito option may not appear where you expect it. It may feel like it is missing, but it has just been moved to a new place.
If you still cannot find it, try updating the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. After updating, open the app again and check the new layout.
I hope this guide helped clear your doubts about incognito mode not showing in YouTube. Feel free to share your thoughts, or let me know if you are still facing the same issue.
