One UI Home is what makes your Samsung phone feel like a Samsung. It’s the thing that shows your home screen, helps you open apps, and lets you switch between them. Without it working properly, the phone just doesn’t feel right.
After updating to the latest One UI version, some people started seeing an annoying message pop up every few seconds saying “One UI Home keeps stopping.” It doesn’t matter which app you’re using — the message just keeps coming back. Some even noticed that the button to see recent apps stopped working, and the phone started acting really slow or freezing up.
If you’re stuck with this problem, it can make using your phone super frustrating. You might have tried closing the app or tapping App Info, but nothing really helps. Don’t worry, there are a few easy things you can try that might fix it.
Before diving into the main solutions, just restart your phone and make sure the app has all the necessary permissions to see if that helps. Once you’ve done that, keep reading, and we’ll go through the fixes step by step.
How to Fix One UI Home Keeps Stopping Pop-up on Samsung
Try Changing Your Wallpaper
As strange as it sounds, simply changing the wallpaper has helped some people fix the problem. All you need to do is open the Galaxy Store, download a new wallpaper, and apply it to your home screen. That’s it.
Others have said that even picking a random picture from the Gallery and setting it as both the home screen and lock screen wallpaper did the trick. It might feel like a small step, but if nothing else has worked, this one is definitely worth trying.
Check for Problematic Widgets (Like Weather Live)
If you’re still facing issues, a specific widget on your home screen could be causing the One UI Home keeps stopping issue. In some cases, the Weather Live widget has been linked to this problem. After restoring data, everything may seem to work fine — touch and swipe functions respond, apps open normally, and the layout appears stable. However, if the Weather Live widget is present, it may show up as blank.
As soon as you try to re-add or configure the widget, One UI Home may start crashing again. If this happens, it’s best to remove the widget completely and avoid adding it back for now. Stick to default or other stable widgets until the app is updated or a patch is released.
Update One UI Home
Sometimes the issue is just because you’re using an old version of One UI Home. Open the Google Play Store and search for One UI Home. If you see an Update button, just tap it.
If you don’t find it on the Play Store, open the Galaxy Store (Samsung’s own app store), search for One UI Home there, and check if there’s an update available.
Reset All Settings
One thing that worked for some people is using the Reset all settings option. It won’t delete your personal stuff like photos or apps, but it will reset things like Wi-Fi settings, Bluetooth, and some custom preferences.
To try this, go to Settings, then tap on General management. From there, choose Reset, and then tap Reset all settings.
It’s a simple reset that can sometimes clear out whatever is messing with your phone. Just be ready to reconnect to your Wi-Fi and redo a few settings afterward.
Clear Data
One thing that helped many users was clearing the data for One UI Home. This reset the home screen to the default layout, which looked plain and basic. After that, go to Settings > Accounts and Backup > Restore Data.
Pick your most recent backup if you have one, then uncheck everything except “Home Screen” and “Apps”. Tap Restore, then hit Done once it finishes.
This can bring back your old layout and app settings, and in some cases, it may stop the One UI Home crash from happening again.
Force Stop the App
One quick thing you can try is force stopping the One UI Home app. Just open your Settings, scroll down and tap on Apps, then tap on three dots, then tap Show system apps, and click OK.
Now, find One UI Home from the list of all apps (You can also search using the search option). Once you open it, hit the Force Stop button.
Clear the Cache for One UI Home
Another thing you can try is clearing the cache. It doesn’t delete anything important, but it can help fix small glitches.
To do this, go to Settings, then tap on Apps, and click on three dots, then tap Show system apps, and click OK. Now, select One UI Home from the list of all apps (You can also search using the search option). Once you tap on it, select Storage, then hit the Clear Cache button.
Use a Different Launcher
If none of the previous fixes worked, the last option is to switch to another launcher app. You can try free launchers like Nova Launcher or Microsoft Launcher.
Once you’ve downloaded and installed one of them, set it as your default launcher. This will bypass the One UI Home issues, allowing you to use your phone without the constant pop-up irritations.
It’s not a perfect fix, but it’ll give you a way to keep using your phone until Samsung releases an update to fix the problem.
